Steps to Safeguard the Plastic Cards

 ^ top

  • Sign new cards as soon as these are received
  • Check cards periodically to make sure none are missing
  • Check account statement often and report any unauthorised transactions immediately to APS Bank Cards Unit
  • Destroy and dispose of copies of receipts, that display card numbers, after checking with account statement
  • Memorise the PIN and do not keep card & PIN together

The PIN

 ^ top

  • If one wants to change the PIN s/ he can do it at any APS and BOV ATM.
  • If it is changed, one has to use numbers which are not easily associated with him/ herself like part of the telephone number or the year of birth.
  • Avoid popular number sequences like 9876 or 1234 or 9999
  • Random combinations of numbers are best and hardest for a criminal to guess
