02/02/2010 - APS Bank sponsors the Malta Bible Society

APS Bank has sponsored the Malta Bible Society in the printing of the publication L-EVANĠELJU TAL-ĦDUD for the current Liturgical year.  This sponsorship has gone towards subsidising the price of the book to render it more affordable.

This publication, which is the second in a series of three books, is in great demand and helps the reader to understand the Scripture passages read in the Sunday Mass.  It is also a practical aid in living the words of the Scripture.

In the book one finds the reproduction of the Gospel readings for every Sunday of the current Liturgical year, the references for the first and second Scripture passages, an explanation of the Gospel and the other readings. Apart from this one also finds questions to help in the meditation on the Biblical text and points for guidance and prayers on the same readings.

The Lectio Divina is a practical way of praying using the Bible which method the Church encourages so that Christians live according to the spirit of the Word of God.

The Malta Bible Society thanked APS Bank for its financial assistance in furthering its work of promoting the Bible.
